Amanda Clewis
Clinical Director and Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Amanda serves as the current Clinical Director of Compass Ministries. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She was a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and worked as a Supervisor for a Clinical Program for the Developmentally Disabled and a Clinician at a Residential Program for Adolescents. During this time Amanda and her husband also did Youth Ministry at a local church. As a single woman, Amanda lived in Kenya and East Asia. Later on, Amanda and her family served for seven years in a small village in Central Asia. Upon returning to the U.S., Amanda became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and started her own private counseling practice working with missionaries. Amanda served as Board President of Compass Ministries for five years before joining the staff in September 2022. Amanda is currently a Play Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Amanda’s favorite role is as a mother of four children, and in her free time, she loves to play soccer and travel.
